San Diego Girls Trip!
Okay so before the pictures of our San Diego trip, I want to get this tagging thing out of the way. So my friend Laura tagged me last week to write ten interesting things about me, that not many people know. But since this is a "family blog", I decided to come up with ten interesting things about our little family! Some things are about all of us, some are about just one of us!
I will try and keep this as simple and non-journal entry like for my certain anti-journal blogging friends and family out there...(he he)! I would also like to tag the following people...
Julie Darger, Tanna Fox, and for my last tag it's more like a tag to start a blog to two of my best friends, Danielle Owen and Addie Wagstaff! We want to see picts of your cute little babies so even if it's just a few picts every now and then- please start one!
Okay here goes...
1. We love Country! Call us red-necks, call us hicks, but we are die hard country music fans! Go gorgeous George and Rascal Flats!
2. We love dogs! Whether it's our little chihuahua Ellie or our big friendly golden retriever Daisy, we are down-right dog lovers! Kate absolutely freaks out every time she sees a dog by screaming "dog, dog, dog!" and then gestures her "I want" sign language! It's so adorable! Animals Rule!
3. I (Cara) am a clean freak. While Tom and I both love a clean home, there are certain things I especially like to be clean... I change my pillow case every night (as well as my towels)! I am surprised that not everyone does this. Think of all the dirt and germs that get in your hair during the day...do you really want your face in that during the night? P.S. This cleaning rule applies to everything but my car of course!
4. Tom is an ESPN-aholic. He knows every stat and can answer any question about any sport!
5. Kate loves to dance! Any time a beat or any kind of music starts playing, those chubby legs start bouncing up and down! She loves to put one hand up and bounce!
6. My grandparents are my heroes. My grandpa Noli and my grandma Mila came to this country from the Phillipines many years ago. They are the most charitable, selfless, educated, wonderful, loving people I know (they are also our biggest blog fans :)). Because of them and all they sacrificed, I am so blessed to have the opportunities and privileges of living in this country. God bless America! I love you grandma and grandpa! Thank you for everything!
7. Tom secretly wishes he was a "Bourne"(like me... he he!). JASON BOURNE to be exact! He jokes about naming a son Jason Bourne!
8. I absolutely love Cape Cod, Nantucket and New England design! The crisp white clean look of wainscotted walls paired with dark hardwoods, who wouldn't? I have to add though, even though I love it back east (New England), we LOVE Salt Lake. From those Rocky Mountains to the stunning canyons, we think it's the best place in the world to live (for too many reasons to mention)!!! Where else do you get 4 incredible seasons(my favorite being fall time of course)? We love having family, friends and hometowns all around us. It's a part of who we are! We love you SLC!
9. Kate and I LOVE desserts! I know, I know, I've gone and gotten my daughter addicted too! But seriously how can anyone resist ooey gooey chocolatey desserts!
10. Tom and I are obsessed with our little Kate. These days, our conversations mostly consist of what adorable things she did or said. She is our little bundle of joy that has our hearts forever!
This past week Kate and I went to sunny San Diego for a Girls trip! We visited our good friends, the Dargers, who are in tax law school there. It was such a blast! Thanks Darger family!
On the beach in Del Mar...
Kate absolutely loves the ocean! She would giggle and scream when the waves would come up and hit her feet!
We spent an afternoon at La Jolla as well.
Kates favorite thing was Sea World! Here she is with her baby seal stuffed animal that was bigger than her!
We loved the Dolphin show!
Kate and Peterson on their date at Cheesecake Factory!
Yeah to Peterson who started walking for the first time this week!
Since Ellie didn't make the cut for the Girls Trip, we thought we'd at least buy a sugar cookie in her honor!
We were able to pet real starfish and huge bat rays at Sea World!
Playing in the sand....
Bath time!
This was by far Kate and Peterson's favorite show. It was called Pet's Rule, Kate would scream for joy and kept shouting out "dog, dog", then gesture her "I want" sign at all the doggies!
Loved the pink flamingos!
Every time we'd get in the car or sometimes the strollers, Kate and Peterson would hold hands like this! So cute!Saturday, September 8, 2007
September 8, 2007- Go Utes!
Kate in her U of U cheerleading outfit at her first Utah football game! Yeah! Go Utes!
Those football games are a little long, Kate got sleepy after half time and took an hour nap at the game!
Uncle Bill, Aunt "Na Na" and cousin Ava all in their U of U gear...
Here was the beautiful view from Rice Eccles Stadium...Tuesday, September 4, 2007
